Which NERC Reliability Standards Apply to Your Cooperative?

Do you have your Sabotage Response guidelines in place? Is your Critical Cyber Asset information in order?

Maybe you need to get busy. . .or maybe not. It all depends on when the reliability standards become effective for cooperatives and the entity classification of your cooperative. But, one thing is for sure; NERC’s compliance authority will apply to all bulk power system owners, operators, and users.

Is It Time for Your Appliance Saturation Study?

The Rural Utilities Service (RUS) requires that many electric cooperatives conduct a residential consumer survey at least every 5 years to obtain data on appliance and equipment saturation and electricity demand.  These surveys, typically referred to as an Appliance Saturation Survey, are used to more accurately develop a load forecast.  In many cases, the survey is conducted by the G&T on behalf of its member systems.
